About the Position
Oversees a smooth running of the farm by implementing various methods of planting techniques and maintaining farm equipment for the purpose of producing high-quality produce for our guests, staff, and customers.
What you will be doing
· Deciding on the type, quality, and quantity of the crops to be planted
· Preparing plans for the mode of harvest, harvesting schedules, and collaborates with campus manager for carrying outthese activities
· Budgeting the farm management and accomplishing the farm activities within a planned budget
· Purchasing farm supplies such as soil amendments and seeds
· Ability to use compost, manure, and organic materials to improve crops
· Water the plants and nursery when necessary
· Supply excess produce to LSC kitchen, as well as Country Life restaurant and store
What you need
· A well informed and experienced farmer with the ability to grow foods; use computer, purchase and order farm tools
· Good communication skills
· Experience in leading multi-cultural teams
· Strong commitment to the values of our institution
· A teacher and instructor
