Lifestyle Extension Program

Level 1

Course begins when your application is approved.
Duration: 12 months ($50 tuition each month after 12 months)
Cost (includes Tuition and Textbooks): $1,895
LEX Internship: (includes food and housing): $600

This program is designed for the person who has a desire to know how to help themselves, and others, gain and maintain health. From anatomy and physiology, through herbs, to simple home remedies, a student will be challenged and rewarded for taking this course. The program also includes a clinical practicum at Uchee Pines where the student will receive actual hands-on experience in patient care as well as further instruction by our medical staff.

Classes include:
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology: A study of all the systems of the body and how they function.
  • Health In Practice: A must in dealing with the poor, rich, addicted, the homeless, and the links to many diseases.
  • Herbology: You will cover essential herbs, preparations, combinations, identification, and uses.
  • Medical Terminology: A must to knowing how to communicate with those you serve and work with.
  • Hydrotherapy: You will learn why, when, and how to use such treatments as sitz baths, hot foot baths , fever treatments as well as many others.
  • Nutrition: The composition of food, how it is processed by the body, and how it can be adapted to achieve optimum health.
  • Disease & Natural Treatment: Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and overweight are just some of the many topics covered.
  • Massage: The ethics, methods, and techniques will be covered, with a follow up optional hands-on experience in the internship phase of the course at Uchee Pines.
  • Resident Internship: Twelve days of intensive training (massage, hydrotherapy, vegan cooking, herbology and more) at Uchee Pines Institute, offering a chance to ask questions of the medical staff as well as interface with your classmates. This workshop is available to all graduates of the LEX program.
Materials Supplied: All textbooks and supplemental materials, including easy to use and attractive notebooks are supplied to lead you on your way.

Materials Recommended (but not supplied):
Medical Dictionary, Herbal PDR, Computer access will be helpful.

We accept Discover, MC, Visa, certified check or money order. Certified check or money order made payable to Uchee Pines Institute, must be in US funds and drawn on a US bank or funds and application will be returned.

Do you have a payment plan for the course?

        No. We will only accept full payment.

When I complete the LEX program will I be able to apply to take the LC (Lifestyle Counselor) program at Uchee Pines?

        No, this program is designed to help those who cannot come to a campus to learn the basics of Lifestyle education.

Is the LEX - Internship required?

        Yes, it is required for those students who wish to have a certificate of completion from Uchee Pines.

Is it possible for me to purchase my own books or use some books I already have

        Yes, however we are not able to credit your account for any books you presently have.

Does the course have a time limit?

        You have one year to complete the basic program. If you need more time, arrangements can be made at an additional charge. ($50/month)

How many hours a day will I need to devote to completing this course?

        Regularity is the best way to do anything. You can complete the course in under 12 months by studying 1 1/2 to 2 hours per day.

Is the LEX program accredited?

        No. Our accreditation is our thirty seven years of experience.

Will there be a more advanced program available after I finish the LEX program?

        We do not have a more advanced program now, but the possibility exists for an additional program in the future.
